From talking to dozens of people I have met in my MBA program, including folks from MIT, Harvard, etc my lesson tells me this:
If you work in financing or executive positions - for example if you plan to work as a financial analyst at Wall Street - then yes, it makes sense investing in schools which are highly ranked.
For those of us coming from IT related positions and now aspiring to move into project management roles, even IT directorship or CTO position, then ranks become very, very irrelevant. I agree at that point a good MS in information management or MS in telecommunications would be a better deal followed by inexpensive PMP type of courses which you could pay from your own pocket.
If you get an MBA from Sloan or Wharton or Harvard or Berkeley, nothing like it. I know of few people who have not done very well after getting MBAs from these schools. If you want to continue writing comp. programs, then of course there is no need for it. But how many people want to do it forever?

That one in Murthy's case was that the person would be in better position if i-485 is not approved because PD is not current.
Reason is that once the i-485 is approved, his H1 status is gone. Since his wife was on H4, it is automatically cancelled. Since she had not yet filed i-485 and can't file it being PD not current. she had to return to her home country.
That will result to being separated from her husband for a long time. Therefore, it is better for both of them to be in H1 and H4 at that particular instance.
I hope this is not the same case with the OP of this thread.

I had my H1b till Nov 16, 2010 with Company1
Company2 applied for H1b transfer and it was approved as of Nov 08, 2010 ( but we didn't get any notification about it it's approval until few weeks later)
Company1 filed for H1b extension on Nov 10, 2010
I properly resigned Company1 on Nov 30, 2010 and started working with Company2 on Dec 1, 2010
Somehow Company1 didn't terminate my H1b extension and it got approved as of Jan 18, 2011.
1) Which status am I in? What decides my status?
2) Can I continue working for Company2 without any problems? Has this new approval put my transfer in jeopardy?
3) Do I need to update Company2 about Company1's extension approval?
4) Do I need to leave the Country to do any stamping?

Most people showing their cool wisdom still not getting the point. A BEC person with Feb 2005 PD may not be able to file for another 2 years while a PD 2007 person will be enjoying EAD during that time. In my dictionary this is injustice. And that's why i was kinda happy when they updated the July bulletin, now I'm not really happy even if my company has already filed my 485/EAD on july 2. I'm still wishing (and i'll be honest) USCIS come up with a reason/regulation/rule that will delay EAD for everyone until BEC people are able to file 485 OR in Oct they retrogress only till March 2005.
P.S. if you are superstitious, you want to know this: most of my relatives/freinds call me "Black Tongue" because usually when i say something unpleasent it happens. e.g. i told my wife last month that i don't believe everyone is able to file 485, something will go wrong and everyone will be disappointed. (when everyone expects something it does not happen- contrarian theory)

Well, if your travel agent offers a Air France ticket, refuse and tell him the reason why u don't want to fly them.
First of all their tickets are way too pricy. People pay shit load of money and get treated like a dogs?? We have choice no matter where u fly from. Try to avoid these European carriers. Try to fly Asian or Indian carriers.
Air France needs to learn that everybody is a customer, irrespective of their skin color/race. And every customer is entitled to same service as rest of them.

oh ya, so you have a problem with donor status? Why don't you start with your cable company and ask them why do they charge you any money? Why don't you ask the gas station, that why do they charge you for the gas? Why don't you argue with the cashier at Walmart about the bill you have to pay if you want something? Its easy to be dismissive of others. Its even easier to fault others and argue that just because no one shared the information, so I have license to throw stones at others. But being an Eb2 highly skilled humanity savior personality that you are, why do you need a 3rd class Eb3 programmer to show you that it cost money to get things done. Why can't you see that in last 8 months this nation was going under a presidential election and nothing got done on any issue, other than bailouts and budget? They might have their reasons and the right to work their way. I agree with your frustration when people who signed to turn up do not show up. But I feel this is not the way to express it.

Well...I got the mail from USCIS for I-485 RFE. Not for H1 as you thought.
Please note all H1Bs, F1s, visas....are part of 485 application.
