I am hoping this is not a typo from the mumbai consulate and USCIS visa bulletin will reflect the same.
My priority date is April 06. Does this mean that there is a chance for me to get the GC now?
How much time does it usually take for USCIS to approve the application after the priority date is current in the bulletin?
And lastly, what are the chances of USCIS staying on this date for EB2-I and not retrogressing it back to some old date (after it issues 1 yr EAD to everyone !!)?

Stop sending money to parents and in-laws, if its possible. Otherwise, maintain parity by sending money in small amounts to both parents. Its stupid to say my wife is not working so she has no business to send money to her parents. Its so wrong and I'm surprised folks can think like this. Marriage is about sharing and even a child will tell you that. If the in-laws are any sensible they won't accept gifts from the son-in-law but its for them to decide.And stop receiving any gifts from either sides.

IRS faq clearly states that everyone on the tax return should have ssn. Even if one has ITIN no one will get the extra refund. Please read IRS faqs

You must understand employment visas, like H1B are non-immigrant visas. That alone should make Uncle Sam stop collecting SS Tax and Medicare. If any trial lawyer does a class action law suit or what we call a Public Interest Litigation, the US government should be in lot trouble. Because no one is questioning, they are passing on. I was also told by a SWA high official, that there is a provision, that you can opt out of deduction of SS Tax and Medicare, if you are on H1.
I want to focus on core IV goals. I will not post any further on this SS Tax issue. But, my last word is: dual intent is dangerous and applicants will be denied visa and entry into US. So, readers be careful. You have a non-immigrant visa.
From US Embassy in Canada for visa stamping requirements:
WILL I QUALIFY FOR A VISA?
In order to qualify for most categories of U.S. non-immigrant visas, you must be able to demonstrate to a U.S. Consular Officer that you have a permanent residence outside the United States that you do not intend to abandon. The current Priority date based Labor application system makes the most higly skilled immigrants bonded laborers where the employers can exploit them. This especially happens to people who are highly intelligent but donot try short routes to Green card and do not think of jumbing ahead of others in the que or moving to other companies to get green card processed faster. Reality dawn sonly when nearing the six year completion date of H1B.
We need to change this unjust immigration system so that atleast in future merit gets rewarded and people who really deserve get their green card.

I just spoke to a lady at USCIS and she told me they just started working on case receipts for July 2nd and onwards so in next couple of weeks most of you who filed in first week of july should see their receipts..this is what she told me and she sounded very authentic..
I think they are all on same page. Entering all applications in their systems by monday and another8-10 days for all to get receipts makes it 2 weeks :)

After I have submitted the 485 receipt, my loan guy went to a meeting. I will hear back from him in a couple of days.
485 does mean some thing to them. But they seem to avoid that so that they can charge more interest rate.
Right now, there is huge demand for loans. So they are bringing in many artificial road blocks to increase interest rates.
H4+ I-485 pending still is a valid status. Now what rules they have regarding approving the loan to someone who is not working (because of H4 status) is something I am unaware of and not immigration related, I guess.
But if you are going to send them a copy of your I-485 application, that should mean SOMETHING in their eyes.

People receive emails about info. posted on state chapters. I have asked other chapter leads to post on their chapter boards as well. I am not sure if we have a consolidated, updated and verified list of all the members across all the state chapters to be able to send an email at this time.

I feel that most of the members are not aware at this time. Usually when ever something is happening live at senate or congress, more members visit and follow the proceedings. Since there is nothing like that right now, i think it's time to communicate to all of'em.

I feel there is value to creating atleast "paid members only" section in addition to regular free zone, so that quality of dicussion is elevated.
Then it wont be a non profit organization any more. You can ask for donation but cant force for it.
