Thanks.

Hi,
I applied for my first EAD in May 2007 and had FP done in June 2007. I am now applying for my EAD renewal. Will there be another FP for the renewal?
This is really urgent as I am traveling to India in April for a month and I don't want to miss the FP appointment. Please let me know if you have info on this?
Thanks.

Hi i've been reading the forum for a while now and I hope that you guys can help me out. Like most people i have more questions than answers.
I just got my i140 approved (Sept 24,2008 or so).
The LC was file around Apr/Jun '07 so i would assume this is the Priority date correct?
My lawyer tells me that while this is great, we still have to wait for visa numbers to become available to file the 485. Any suggestions on when is this gonna happen?
I know that this is somewhat linked to the visa bulletin ... how should i read it to understand in a few words, when is my time?
Once i've filed i485 how long does USCIS takes to process it?
On the other hand, i'm quite anxious about changing jobs. If I do, do I waste all this time invested in the process? any other way around that?
It seems like no lawyer wants to provide a straight enough answer. I know it's a lot of questions but i really appreciate it.
THANX A LOT!

Hi this is my first post in IV ,i'm really glad to join this Community.
I'm on OPT right now ,i'm done with my masters in DEC 2007.
My visa Stamp in my passport was only untill april 2008(I got F1 stamped only for 18 months), now i'm on OPT extension.I applied H1B in 2008 and got RFE my employer could not answer the RFE and revoked my petition.
I did't apply in 2009 even i have chance to apply(because of the JOB fear ) my OPT extension is going to end in June 2010 , any way i will be applying H1b in 2010.
My question is if i don't get H1B in 2010 ,my plan i to take CPT and search for jobs ,does it effects my future immigration any way.
My Posti is too long but try to understand i'm student and can't efford going to a attorney for this sort of questions.
Thanks in advance for every one who replys to me.

Does someone with more experience than me have an estimation (I'd say one month)? Sorry, but I'm starting to get anxious that if I file April 2nd and not April 1st I could end up in trouble.

Thank you. I checked it out. My nephew (7yrs) also plans to come for 3 weeks with my in laws. He has never been to the US before, and his parents are not coming either. The site mentioned that parents visa papers also have to be attached, I am not sure what this means. (His parents have never applied for the visa)
Your inputs are much appreciated. Thanks

Folks:
I did not see a specific tracker for Advanced Parole applications at the NSC. So, here's my information:
Receipt Date: August 15, 2007
Notice Date: September 30, 2007
Status: Not received yet:mad:
Has any one filed in the same timeframe and received the AP document?
Thanks in advance.

Born in Germany to Holocaust survivors who immigrated in the 1950s, Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilfis certainly has lived the American dream. His parents were amongst the very first beneficiaries of the US refugee admissions policy enacted in the wake of World War II and the Wilfs were able to start their lives again and build a highly successful real estate business. Zygi Wilf had an opportunity to buy a piece of the New York Jets nearly 40 years ago and passed, but when he had the chance again recently, he went for it. Mr. Wilf is also a major...

Some paras from The Myth of the Middle (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/02/28/AR2007022801817.html)
One explanation for all this is that politicians are acting against the will of their compromise-loving constituents. Another is that Republicans and Democrats are simply being good representatives. We think the evidence supports the second interpretation.
The Cooperative Congressional Election Study (CCES) surveyed more than 24,000 Americans who voted in 2006. The Internet-based survey compiled by researchers at 30 universities produced a sample that almost perfectly matched the national House election results: 54 percent of the respondents reported voting for a Democrat, while 46 percent said they voted for a Republican. The demographic characteristics of the voters surveyed also closely matched those in the 2006 national exit poll. If anything, the CCES respondents claimed they were more "independent" than those in the exit poll.
The CCES survey asked about 14 national issues: the war in Iraq (the invasion and the troops), abortion (and partial birth abortion), stem cell research, global warming, health insurance, immigration, the minimum wage, liberalism and conservatism, same-sex marriage, privatizing Social Security, affirmative action, and capital gains taxes. Not surprisingly, some of the largest differences between Democrats and Republicans were over the Iraq war. Fully 85 percent of those who voted for Democratic House candidates felt that it had been a mistake to invade Iraq, compared with only 18 percent of voters who cast ballots for Republicans.
When we combined voters' answers to the 14 issue questions to form a liberal-conservative scale (answers were divided into five equivalent categories based on overall liberalism vs. conservatism), 86 percent of Democratic voters were on the liberal side of the scale while 80 percent of Republican voters were on the conservative side. Only 10 percent of all voters were in the center. The visual representation of the nation's voters isn't a nicely shaped bell, with most voters in the moderate middle. It's a sharp V.
The evidence from this survey isn't surprising; nor are the findings new. For the past three decades, the major parties and the electorate have grown more divided -- in what they think, where they live and how they vote. It may be comforting to believe our problems could be solved if only those vile politicians in Washington would learn to get along. The source of the country's division, however, is nestled much closer to home.

Nina Bernstein, one of the country's best immigration reporters, has a front page story in this morning's Times regarding 30 survivors of the January Haiti earthquake who were airlifted by Marines to the United States and are now sitting in detentions centers in Florida. According to the Times, these individuals were pulled from the rubble and were seeking food, safety or medical care at the airport in Port-au-Prince. When aftershocks struck, the Marines quickly evacuated people via military transports and did not bother with immigration processing. Because these individuals landed without visas, they were taken by DHS into custody and...

Every once in a while a government agency in the immigration space does the right thing. If I'm to maintain credibility and objectivity in the eyes of readers, I need to call out functional behavior when I see it -- notwithstanding that this blog is dedicated to dysfunctions in the immigration ecosystem. The agency worthy of plaudits is a unit within the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice known as the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Employment Practices (OSC). Under Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) 274B(c) [8 U.S. Code 1324b(c)], the OSC is charged, among...
