It all depends on the number of people on EB3 for each month from Nov 2001 to date. Since dont have the slightest idea, there is little we can do. if you can switch, go ahead and switch. Its no use speculating, data doesnt tell anything because sample size on that site is very small and the data is not up to date.
if an EB 3 switches to EB 2 is the visa deducted from the EB 2 quota or EB3 or both, i guess it should be EB2 ... considering USCIS..who knows.

Well, I've got a few reasons.
1. I don't like the attitude that comes along with the people that speak it.
2. I just don't like the language.
3. I don't live anywhere close to a place where I must know Hindi to survive.
4. The Indian Constitution recognises English as a subsidiary official language.
5. If I have survived as long as I have without knowing Hindi, I'm sure I can survive without knowing Hindi for the rest of my life.

'Too many Cooks spoiled the broth'. If each person steering the boat paddles in a different direction, boat will go in circles.
True to certain extent but I don't know that there are too many cooks. We are all making suggestions but if there is any action based on that, we don't know. It's sorta brainstorming and some good ideas may come out of that.
If we stick to 'Don't ask what we can do for you, ask what you can do for us', we won't go far with it.
I have had other people express the same thing to me. It's about the collective group but if we cannot convince individual folks there isn't a way we can gather the group. We truly need to be proactive in recruiting people to the organization actively as opposed to being passive and saying it's fine - we will let whoever wants to join us join and whoever wants to contribute let them contribute.
I think as more number of people join this organization, the responsibility increases for the organization too. I also truly think the anonymity of the members is truly not helping and is in a way responsible for all the offensive posts in this forum. Once you attach a face and name and location to the IV handle, some of that should stop.
Also, make this a paid forum, please.

I am with you buddy, but u have to understand
1. AILF will not file such case as they dont have big numbers of people supporting it as plaintiff
2. Your reasons are justified but you forgot one thing: US govt agencies (whether it is USCIS, DOS or DOL) treat immigrants as with the principle "beggars are not choosers", so per them you as an individual and your feelings doesnt matter much
3. Try to think positively, even though everyone will file 485 now but come Oct and if your labor is approved by that time you will be much ahead of everyone and you will not loose your place in the line. I am sure u will get GC approval before most of the July filers

You create awareness and build alliances.
You give the other party (in this case congress) an opportunity to correct the problem.
You get reporters to do additional investigate work that may help you build a case (This has already happened).
You have an opportunity to correct public misconceptions, such as that all ITIN filers are illegal aliens, and thereby reduce the chance that the public will support such action in the future.
Wikipedia also has good interpretation of rebate and ITIN. It clearly mentions
"Taxpayers who filed their returns jointly are not eligible for payment if any of the persons on the tax return filed with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) instead of a social security number.[4] For example, if a family of five had one parent with an ITIN, no money is payable to any member of the family, including US citizens with valid social security numbers.[7] As a result, many legal resident aliens and overseas military families will not receive any payment. If you read my post carefully, I am suggesting this 'in addition' to what's already on IV's agenda. Why can't we work on this item in conjunction to what's already being worked on? I have started preparing a fraud list from a bunch of websites like desicrunch.com. I noticed that almost 90% of firms reported there are fraud firms and it makes me wonder about the efficiency of local authorities. Also I don't see how targeting blood sucking desi firms would feed the anti-immigrant trolls. I would think we Indians would benefit the most since it would increase our credibility in general. Thanks for considering this idea at least. I would like to know other people's thoughts based on my clarification here. This drive might clean up cases freeing up visa numbers for genuine EB cases from India. Why should I be in line with crooks ahead of me? It doesn't make sense whatsoever.
And yes, my contribution to IV so far as been $1000 and involvement in other drives. Your question to me regarding my contribution made me squirm a bit since you might have categorized me with many of IV's freeloaders. Suppose, you target a company because its fraud but there might be a huge possibility that some of the employees are genuine and they would suffer just because their employer is fraud. I am preparing I131 (AP) renewal application for me and my family. For my son, who is 8 years old, do I need to fill "Part 9. Signature of Person preparing the form, if other than the applicant" since I am preparing this form? OR can I just sign Part 8 on-behalf of my son?
G-28 form says it needs to be filled in case if you use Attorney or Representative. Just wondering whether I need to fill a G-28 form for the above AP renewal application for my son since I am filling Part 9 in his application.

Actually you are partly right. Only those who had paid the revised higher fee last year are eligible to get renewals for free. All those who had paid the regular fee (July filers) pay for renewal everytime
Yes and ALL July 2nd Filers HAVE to pay the EAD and AP fees over and over again. Coz everyone that benefitted from the July 2nd drama was not granted the multiple ead renewal free deal. I am VERY sure about that.

IEEE-USA must know the current increase of EB visas in CIR was mainly warranted due to the current backlogs in labor and due to retrogression.
IEEE-USA when issuing statement like this, should understand that making people wait 5-8 years for adjudication is simply unfair.
Let IEEE-USA vouch to reform H-1B later and work to clear the backlogs and retrogression first.

I have same question. I filed I-485+AP+EAD in July fiasco, after one year renewed I-131 (paid the fee then). I remember from that time that I do not have to pay the fee again to renew it. But in the e-file form I am not seeing option to get the waiver. Now I am doubting whether 2nd renewal is free or not?
