Have you ever been refused access to the room where your client was being interviewed by USCIS? Have you ever been told that you are not allowed to speak while ICE questioned your client? Has CBP ever refused to allow your client to call you during a complicated secondary inspection?

Hi,
I need to get my H1B stamped in Mexico. I know there are some agencies which offer a complete package trip to the Mexico US Consulate. Does anybody know some names and contact information?
I am based in Los Angeles and am pretty close to Mexico border. Do they have something in Southern California? Other places are also Ok.
Thanks,
Prashant.
on a lighter note... just cross the border nah... :D:D but tto ur questions... I think that victorgarcia is helpful...

Guys,
I am trying to arrange "Meet the Senators/Congressmen Drive" in Washington State. We already have a few volunteers, mostly from the eastside of Seattle. I am looking for a couple more people to help us in our efforts. Please feel free to contact me at 425-996-1021 to discuss this.
Thanks,
Raj

Last Tuesday, Chuck Kuck, immediate Past-Prez of AILA, and I covered the landscape of current developments in U.S. immigration law and policy on "The Immigration Hour," Chuck's weekly program on America's Web Radio. If you've grown weary of the health-care debate and are hankering for the next large public controversy, give a listen. We covered the origin and current exploits of the USCIS Fraud Detection and National Security (FDNS) unit, the latest meanderings of their outsourced compatriots who are paying visits to American employers from sea to shining sea, and the prodding of Sen. Grassley to find more and more...

Conservatives for Comprehensive Immigration Reform (yes, there is such a group and, yes, it makes perfect sense for true, small government conservatives), had a strategy call this week. Here's a key comment from the call: Congressman Lincoln Diaz Balart stated, Were ready in the HouseThere is a variety of thinking in both parties on this issue. Republicans have backed off in the Senate. They have not backed off in the House. His brother, Congressman Mario Diaz Balart continued, This issue is, how do we get it done? Where we are today. Obama said that in his first 12 months he...

She will have to go out of country and get stamping for H4 if her spouse is maintaining H1.
Automatic validation does not happen..
I need help for my friend. My Friend's spouse on H4 started to work on EAD. She does not work (or if she gets laid off), will she automatically get her H4 status? If not, what does she need to do to get back on H4. Her husband is on H1.

For the benefit of those looking answers to this question, I found the following CBP guidelines on passport validity requirements upon entry (not at time of visa application):
http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/travel/inspections_carriers_facilities/clp/bulletins/clp_bullentin_04162008.ctt/clp_bulletin_04162008.pdf
Please let know if this is correct.

Hello gurus,
just wanted some help on filing for EAD (paper application) (self + spouse)
I will be mailing the docs (UPS) to this address:
USCIS
Nebraska Service Center
850 S. Street
Lincoln, NE 68508-1225
I hope this is the right address, we live in california, 2nd EAD, first EAD filed at Nebraska with the old fee. First time EAD was filed by the attorney, this time he is charging way too much.
Along with the application I am mailing the following docs:
1. check $340
2. passport pages
3. first EAD copy and receipt
4. 485 receipt
5. drivers license
6. I 94
7. copy of birth certificate
8. copy of marriage certificate
Does the check list cover everything or am I missing some thing. Please help gurus.

Here is my situation:
I94 expired on 2/12 and my H1b extension was filed on 2/24.
Both my EAD and AP are expired (getting them renewed now).
My 485 is pending status (PD is May 17th 2006).
My lawyer says he requested USCIS to use discretion to grant H1B extension (with extension of stay) even though its filed late. If USCIS does not agree, I need to leave the country to get visa stamped (for H1b) in which case my pending 485 application can get affected.
For that reason he doesnt recommend going that route if USCIS doesn't approve my H1B with extension of stay. He recommends to use my EAD to continue my work. My EAD is expired as well. Can I continue to work in this case (EAD pending renewal and H1b approved without extention of stay)?

This is my first post. Thank you for allowing me to participate.
Just a passing thought - Would it help if members in each state meet (say on a Sunday) and come up with Strategies to mobilize more people in their respective states?
It will help the us organize better in each state. A senior member in each state would then coordinate and take strategy and activity related instructions and advice from immigrationvoice.org core members and implement those in his/her respective state.
If at all that is possible then immigrationvoice.org can maybe create statewise blogs or something that would update members in each states about upcoming activities.

Hi Folks,
My friend's 485 is pending with CIS and he is working on EAD. He currently does not hold any other visa. In fact his last H1 expired more than a year ago. We recently tried to renew his EAD online on USCIS website. However, we were stumped by a question which asks the applicant about his/her current immigration status in US. It was a drop down box and had many options like H1, L1 etc, but there was no option for somebody like him whose current status is just "AOS pending".
How do we get around this? Do you think it is best to apply on paper?

I applied for I-485, I-140,and EAD almost 2 months ago..The package was received by USCIS but no receipts yet, no checks are cashed yet...We called and they said it may take 3 months to issue receipts...what should I expect?Receipts and approval of EAD in a month given that they usually honor the 3 months period to approve EAD?or nothing is guaranteed!!

Do we need to sign the I-485 docs on behalf of minors? My daughter is 9 years old and she has signed her papers all by herself. When I asked my attorney, one time she said I need to sign and finally she sent the docs with her signature only.
