How insane you are, you are giving the credit of that to USCIS ??? I think you were sleping when people had rallies in CA and IV had 'flowers to USCIS' campaign, how about Zoe Lofergn's threat, I'm sure you don't know any thing. USCIS shares most of the responsibility of you and I being on this forum. USCIS was doing a tardy job and wasting several thousand green card numbers every year that's why DOS had to push them by making the world wide dates current. And 'no' they did not 'realize' any mistake, they did not want to get into legal trouble and get publically exposed(Zoe Lofergn asked for emails and all communication regarding Visa cut off dates). So they took the shortest and safest way to get out ...that u r crying over USCIS issues? Chill dude :). They were gracious enough to realise their mistake last year and hand out EADs to everyone. Full marks to USCIS for being spontaneous and doing the right thing at the right time. Infact its ppl like u who will always keep cribbing no matter what. Even after u get ur GC u will crib over citizenship delays. Shame on u.

Did get solved by Andrew Wiles in in the mid-nineties. To read about the history and drama behind this theorem, I suggest reading 'Fermat's Enigma' by Simon Singh. So I guess if that can be solved, PBEC could find a way out for all of us.

9years thank you for sharing all the information during the whole process...
I got an email saying that "On December 2, 2010, we ordered production of your new card" today. Me and my wife both got emails. Our wait (green in our life) for so many years came to a very happy end. My hearty wishes to all the friends who have been waiting in the queue to have best of luck.

My wife is on H4, i'm on H1B. She applied for DL renewal and was renewed for 1 yr.
They accepted visa, passport, i-94, and H4 renewal receipt notice.
They gave her one year from receipt notice.
What a relief. i was worried they would not accept it.
That was in Sterling VA DMV.:)

I think this is a really complex issue. We go thru a lot of thoughts now and then.
When I think rationally this is what I am concerned about:
1. Social isolation from family (brother/sisters/extended family) in the long run.
2. Inability to support aging parents.
The second issue weighs down on my soul more because supporting aging parents is a debt we are all supposed to pay back (regardless of ethnicity/class/caste/nationality/...). We are not supposed to run away from it. Some of us are lucky to have sibilings who are supporting the parents back home and that makes it a little easier. I know some of us even have single parents living by themselves.
The long wait makes it hard for you and wife. So you really feel frustrated and want to leave. At the same time waiting for GC your career has been stagnating for years, your wife hasn't had a job in years and that makes going back harder. Its like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Things seem good with a GC in US and they look good back home but we seem to be getting neither ... *sigh*

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
May be you are right. I am pretending like nothing has happened. But Those folks who are adding spin to the issue on security checks, are you focusing in any way on the root cause of the problem. My point is, If you bring security on, every thing else is shelved until security is fixed. If its already there, let it be there. Let AILA figure out in the law suit how they approved. Let Rep Lofgren do it. Why should we stir up the hornet's nest on digg and open doors to anti guys to tighten security checks on us. Its like we are going out there and saying that "yes, My buddy got GC in 6 months. The security system is not working. Please fix it " What will be the result?

The idea is very brillinat and this actually benefits the current IV core too.
Usually, people get tired of leading a non-profit, too much of ones personal resources go into it.
A new leadership will bring new energy in form of people getting a title and make them more accountable to needs.
Every current commitee(current IV core) actually is the backbone of a non-profit, cos they carry lots of assets, in terms of connections they have developed, money they have accumulated, goals that they have set, etc...
So the current IV core can support the new commitee and take their help to take the organisation forward.
And as I previously mentioned, the organisation does not or should not cease to exits once our goals are met, they should then be lead by other non-immigrants who will have a whole different set of issues.

for eg. the 2009 members (paid), can vote for the IV president and the committe.
it doesnt make sense for evey EB immigant to go and start a new non-for-profit.

I think we need to emphasize the fact that typically guys who got stuck in BEC for many years are the same guys being effected again, as they just got out of BEC queue and filled concurently and now basically are stuck again, it is really ridiculous experience for this group of applicants, where as people who have applied in PERM or those who were able to get LC certified without getting into BEC have gone through the whole process relatively smoothly....
