I was checking the http://congress.org
I noticed they have a Calls to Action from Groups and Organization on the home page, When i tried to see if there are any Immigration related issues posted There were many like increasing H2A etc but nothing corresponding to Retrogression or GC waiting faced by thousands of immigrants.
There are 100s of bills waiting for Co-sponsors published on this website.
I felt we should do post about the issues faced by Thousands of Legal immigrants who are struck in retrogression or Per country limit.
This may be a good place to put as a number of representatives may view it and it is a good way for us to let the people know of the issues.
Any thoughts........

Wow! This act was so good. And I see 27 sponsors! What ever happened to it??? Maybe we should petition to get this introduced again, this was more like a real reform. It seems like Democrats supported it, but probably lost the fight with Republican congress at the time.

I applied for my concurrent filing during the July 07 fiasco. My I-140 is still pending approval. I am hoping that it gets approved within the next month or so...my question is ...when can I switch companies for a same/similar job if I wanted to? Since my I 485 has been pending for over 180 days do I need to wait for my I-140 approval? if I do have to wait, can I switch as soon as I get my 140 approval?

One of my friend who is an accountant's H1 visa was sponsopred by a non-accounting firm who needed an accountant who is familiar with accounting pratices here is USA and India. Now that the firm who initially hired him and sponsored his visa doesn't have a full time accountant requirement and he is finding it difficult to find an accounting firm to sponsor his visa. But the firm who originally hired him is willing and has an opening to place him in an accounting firm as accountant. But since the firm who originally hired him is not an accounting firm is there any legal issue in doing so. If it is legal, what should the either of the firms and/or he should do as far as paperworks are concerned.

Below is my situation;
Last project ended July 17 and am out of project since then and my last pay check was for the week of July 17. I was sent a termination letter and my employer said that he will not revoke my H1B and told me to transfer my H1B ASAP. I have been trying to do a H transfer from then on but no company is willing to do since I don't have a project and every one told to find a project first.
Finally I found a project but now employers are not willing to do a transfer saying that I don't have pay stubs for almost two and half months. A few employers are suggesting to file a new H1B.
What would be the best course of actions in my situation.

My 485 application for EB2 was filed with USCIS on Sunday, July 1st 2007. My lawfirm is not sure if it will be accepted by USCIS since the filing was done in the weekend. Any comments? There could be lot of us in a similar situation. For those who are in the same boat, I would appreciate any updates you have received from your lawyer.

Hello everyone,
I had filed for my I485 on 19th July at Nebraska. My 90 days are getting over on 19th Oct. Still I have not received any receipts for I-485,EAD,I-131.
My lawyer is going to call USCIS to inquire about my case.
Does any one had experience calling USCIS after 90 days were over and the USCIS tracked your application and you got your receipts.
Would be great if any one can share there experiences.

Do nothing. It is an oversight and not worth worrying about. You can send them a letter and they will put it in the file but it isn't worth much.

Hi All,
I applied for my I485 during the July 07 fiasco and also for EAD/AP for me and my wife. I just renewed my H1B for another 3 years and my manager just said that since I have my H1B, I shouldnt renew my EAD/AP when it expires next year since it is quite an expense for the company. My wife is using her EAD for her current job and so that will still be renewed.
Just wanted to find out if there can be any issues if I dont renew just my EAD/AP?
Also after filing for the I485 in July 07, we did our Fingerprinting in Feb 08. We had not received FP notice and had to go through infopass to get FP done. Since then we've not received a renewal for FP again. I believe FP expires in 18 months and we need get it done again. Should I be receiving FP notice for renewal or do I need to go thru infopass again?
